About the role
The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Myanmar‑national Protection Officer to support emergency assistance programmes in Rakhine. You will assess referrals, distribute cash or in‑kind aid, and coordinate additional services for individuals and families experiencing sudden financial shock.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and receive referrals for individuals and families affected by financial crises.
- Conduct household visits and centre‑based interviews to assess eligibility for cash or in‑kind assistance.
- Provide clear information on entitlements and refer beneficiaries to appropriate services, including those outside IRC.
- Deliver focused psychosocial support and facilitate community‑level psychosocial activities.
- When needed, manage comprehensive protection cases: develop action plans, assess risk, and link beneficiaries to support networks.
- Maintain a caseload of up to 20 active cases, ensuring timely follow‑up and documentation.
Required profile
- Myanmar national with a strong commitment to humanitarian protection.
- Experience in case management, cash assistance distribution, or related protection work.
- Ability to conduct assessments, develop action plans, and coordinate referrals.
- Excellent communication skills and capacity to work independently under supervision.
