About the role
The International Rescue Committee seeks a dedicated Employment Caseworker to support newly arrived refugees and qualified immigrants in achieving self‑sufficiency. Working closely with an employment specialist, you will guide clients through barriers to employment and connect them with essential resources.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct intake, assessment, and program orientation for eligible clients.
- Develop individualized self‑sufficiency plans and monitor progress.
- Provide case management services, including financial assistance distribution, public benefits applications, and referrals to medical, legal, education, and mental‑health services.
- Offer public‑transportation orientation and ensure regular, meaningful client interactions.
- Document client interactions in the ETO system and support tracking/reporting.
- Collaborate with coworkers, partner organizations, and local service providers.
- Submit timely program‑related reports to meet contractual requirements.
- Travel within the service area using a personal or public vehicle to transport clients and materials.
- Train and lead support staff, volunteers, and interns as needed.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in workforce development or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to assess client needs, develop action plans, and track outcomes.
