Business Risk and Compliance Officer

About the role

The Business Risk and Compliance Officer is responsible for independently validating and testing trust accounts managed by Portfolio Managers. This role ensures that all trust documentation complies with BSP regulations and internal policies, and provides regular reports to senior committees and the Board.

Key responsibilities

• Validate and test‑check all trust accounts on a scheduled, prioritized basis.
• Monitor completion and updating of trust documentary requirements for managed accounts.
• Stay current with BSP and Bank policies, especially anti‑money laundering and terrorist financing regulations.
• Report status of reviews (due, completed, compliant, deficient) to the Business Risk and Compliance Head.
• Conduct portfolio performance reviews to ensure alignment with Investment Policy Statements and client risk profiles.
• Ensure trust documents are reviewed, authenticated, and approved by authorized units.
• Perform periodic compliance reviews of trust documents for validity, completeness, and accuracy.
• Identify and follow up on administrative and documentary deficiencies, maintaining tracking records.
• Coordinate with ITG for system updates to meet regulatory changes.
• Prepare policies and guidelines to achieve satisfactory audit ratings.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of BSP regulations and anti‑money laundering requirements.
• Experience in trust account administration and compliance monitoring.
• Ability to schedule, prioritize, and track multiple reviews simultaneously.
• Excellent reporting skills for senior committees and board members.
